Join the South East Green Party at the Green Bloc on the biggest ever climate march: full details of our rendezvous point for Sunday's march in London have now been posted. In the run up to the COP talks in Paris people will be marching in London on November 29 and Cardiff and Edinburgh on November 28. You can also join the trip to Paris on December 12.
The Green Party is the biggest national party to demand real climate action and talk Climate Sense.
We'll be marching against Airport Expansion as we are under threat from plans to expand either Heathrow or Gatwick - both of which seriously affect the South Region and also have much wider climate change implications. You can read more about why we have chosen airport expansion as our theme on our airports page
The march assembles on Park Lane from midday and the front of the march, which is expected to be huge, leaves from Hyde Park Corner around 1pm. It will finish at Millbank beside Parliament. You can march as an individual or you can join the ‘Aviation Block’ where people who are opposed to runways will march together.
We'll be joining with fellow aviation expansion protestors - like Friends of the Earth and Hacan - at point B on the map below, Park Lane (nr Hyde Park Corner tube), from 12 noon. We will have our giant No New Runways banner and need help carrying it! FOE also have smaller no new runways placards you can wave. The Aviation Block will march just behind the Cut Transport Emissions Bloc, which is forming up at Point A. (See map).
The national Green Party has a meeting point on the corner of Park Lane and Deanery Street (near the Dorchester Hotel, W1K 1QA). They say join us at 11:30AM for a photocall with Green leaders. Map here: http://bit.ly/1HcO5b7
You could do both as they're near each other!Ours is the only generation that can solve this crisis and now is the time to claim the future we want. In countries everywhere, people will march for a world we know is within our reach; a world with a just economy that works for people and planet, a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world powered by 100% clean energy, with sustainable jobs, clean air and water and healthy communities.
Let’s all make sure that the Greens’ presence is really visible on the 29th November.
