The “Stronger In” Campaign will be holding a Campaign Rally at The Christian Centre, Dorking on Friday 27 May at 7.30pm. All welcome.
The Rally will be promoting the campaign for Britain to Remain in the European Union with the Referendum set to take place on 23 June.
The key themes of the rally will be that Britain is stronger, safer and better off in Europe as remaining in the European Union is:
Great for Families: with lower prices in our shops due to free trade and with maternity and paternity leave guaranteed by EU law.
Great for Workers: with 3 million jobs linked to our trade with the EU and vital workers rights like paid holiday leave protected by the EU.
Great for Pensioners: with the freedom to live, travel, and retire abroad – and pensions are more valuable as our economy is stronger in Europe.
Great for Young People: with the freedom to travel, study and work abroad – and with EU funding supporting universities and helping students get on in life.
Great for Holidaymakers: with EU action making it cheaper to use your mobile phone abroad and driving down the costs of flights by 40%.
Great for Small Businesses: which are free to sell to 500 million people across the EU and which create new UK jobs.
Great for Security: with British police working across borders to keep us safe.
Mole Valley MP Sir Paul Beresford, barrister Antony Hook, and County Councillor Jonathan Essex will be the keynote speakers at the event. Promoting the event:
Sir Paul Beresford said, “Britain is an attractive trading partner because of its EU status and local jobs rely on it.”
Anthony Hook added, “For every £1 we put into the EU we get almost £10 back through increased trade, investment, jobs, growth, and lower prices.”
Jonathan Essex continued, “Britain needs to remain a part of the EU so we can work together on the shared challenges we face, from tackling climate change to addressing the refugee crisis.”
Barney Jones, County Co-ordinator for the Remain Campaign, concluded, “Come and join us at the rally and give the campaign a boost in Dorking.”
