Green Leader & MEP Keith Taylor in Horse Hill to oppose fracking

Today, Keith Taylor, our Green Party MEP for the South East and Natalie Bennett, Green Party leader are joining campaigners from Horse Hill Protection Group in Surrey to oppose imminent flow testing for oil at the site.

Responding to news that the Horse Hill site could sit atop 271 million barrels of oil per square mile, Keith said:

"This huge oil find is the perfect opportunity for us to have an important national debate about keeping fossil fuels in the ground.

The scientific consensus on climate change has never been greater and we have been told that the only way we have a chance of averting catastrophe is by leaving large reserves of oil in the ground.

We need proper and rigorous assurances from the company responsible that fracking would not take place to get any oil out of the ground."
