This month's meeting includes a short business meeting for members only, from 7.30–8pm. We will be selecting target candidates for next year's local elections.
Then from 8pm all supporters are welcome for a discussion on What is the Green Party for?
-
In this time of political change and unprecedented environmental, economic and moral challenges, what role should a progressive party play?
-
Under 'first past the post' electoral systems, is a vote for Greens wasted?
-
Is the Green Party a potential party of government, or is it a party that seeks to challenge and hold politicians to account?
- What power do we have to bring about change, and how can we best use that, locally and nationally?
It promises to be a lively discussion - please bring your ideas to add to the mix.
The discussion will last for about an hour, then we can move to the pub where informal discussions can continue.
*The meeting room is just inside the Travelodge entrance, in the archway adjoining the Toby Carvery. The pub is beside Redhill train station (exit via Platform 3 and turn right). There is car parking on site, and the meeting room is disability access friendly.
