Surrey training

This training is for the new local parties in Surrey to equip them with essential skills (timetable below).

Early in 2016 all the Green Party branches in Surrey will have the chance to become local Green Parties in their own right. Surrey Green Party will remain as a federation, linking the local parties together and providing opportunities to deal with county matters, including supporting and being briefed by our Surrey Green county councillor, Jonathan Essex and other future Green councillors.

This training is for all the new local parties to ensure they are equipped to go forward with confidence, target to win at elections, campaign on key issues and organise effectively to build an effective membership. This training is for existing and potential officers, and others who would like to make sure their local party works well for them. The focus is on officer roles and effective party organisation. We are very fortunate to have volunteer trainers on topics including:

  • The art of bean-counting: how to be a No 1 Treasurer (Derek Smith and Jeff Zie)
  • Dealing with elections (Tony Cooper)
  • No one wants boring meetings: how to run great Green Party meetings (Vanessa King)
  • Getting our act together: the role of party co-ordinator (Sarah Finch)
  • The leaflet drop: how the volunteer co-ordinator can make this easy (Ann James)
